About SeniorCalc

SeniorCalc is a free, independent calculator site built for US seniors and the adult children who help them navigate Medicare, Social Security, and retirement decisions.

Why we built this

Existing retirement tools are mostly built by financial advisors trying to capture leads, or by calculator farms that haven't been updated in years and weren't designed with a 68-year-old in mind. The SSA's own tools are functional but difficult to use. Nobody had built these tools for the senior as the actual user.

SeniorCalc is our attempt to fix that. Every tool here is designed to answer the question a real person has sitting across the kitchen table from their adult child: "How much will I actually pay?" and "What do I do about it?"

Our principles

  • No lead-gen. We will never ask for your email address, phone number, or any personal information.
  • No hidden fees. Every tool is free. Every tool will always be free.
  • Private by design. All calculations happen in your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers.
  • Built for seniors. Large text, high contrast, one step at a time, printable results.
  • Accurate and up-to-date. We update our data tables each year when CMS and the IRS publish new figures.

Who maintains this

SeniorCalc is an independent project maintained by a solo developer. If the tools have been useful to you or a family member, you can support the project via Ko-fi.

Important disclaimer

SeniorCalc provides free educational tools only. Nothing on this site is financial, legal, or medical advice. Medicare brackets and Social Security figures are sourced from official government publications (CMS, SSA, IRS) but may contain errors or become outdated. Always verify important decisions with a licensed financial advisor, CPA, or the relevant government agency directly.
